Abstract

Think C++ (v1.1.0) by Allen B. Downey (1999) is a beginner-oriented introduction to programming using C++, designed for students with little or no prior experience. It follows a "think like a computer scientist" philosophy, building concepts incrementally from basic output, variables, and data types through to functions, loops, recursion, and object-oriented programming. Written in plain, accessible language with exercises in each chapter, it prioritizes computational thinking and problem-solving over rote syntax learning.
