Credit Unions as a Financing Source for the Social Economy and Rural Community Re-investment

Abstract

This proposal/plan documetns a research project that examines the role of credit unions in supporting the social economy and is a second stage of research building on SERC 3’s research project C11. At the same time, this project links to the work of SERC 2 in looking more deeply at the role of credit unions in rural community re-investment. The research involves an examination of four credit union case studies, two each in large municipalities and smaller centres.
